From 25th January to 26th January, 2018 we had a Youth Health Camp that attracted 210 youth from the 9 Parishes of Nyarushanje Subcounty. The theme for the camp “Eminyeeto Yamagara Marungi Nibwo Obugaiga Bweihanga”/ Healthy youth a Wealthy Nation”.
Camp activities and sessions included an HIV/AIDS prevention and management session by a District Health Educator and a one on one Dialogue session between youth and 14 health workers from 9 Health centers of Nyarushanje Subcounty and 1 private clinic on health services provided, youth friendly service provision and question and answer session. The youth also engaged in a dialogue session on the sexual reproductive health challenges faced by youth.
A police officer from Nyarushanje Subcounty took the youth through the common crimes committed by youth of Nyarushanje Subcounty, highlighted the common causes and gave some tips on prevention strategies.
